Inequality in COVID-19 vaccination in Africa

Background: the COVID-19 pandemic has spread rapidly to all countries with significant health, socioeconomic and political consequences. Several safe effective vaccines have been developed. However, it is not certain that African successfully vaccinated their populations. Objective: study distribution of vaccination in Africa from March 2021 June 2022. Methods: using reliable open access data, we used proportion fully people a complete schedule as reference variable. To analyse level inequality vaccination, computed common indicators including two percentile ratios, Generalized Entropy index, Gini coefficient Atkinson index. We also estimated Lorenz curve. identify drivers univariate multivariate regression models function related variables, demographic, epidemiologic, socioeconomic, health system variables. Results: 53 available data were included study. The increased during period. this increase remained unequal across countries.
